His dedication earned him a scholarship to the Sofia State Conservatory in Bulgaria, where he completed a Master’s degree in Piano Performance under Professor Atanas Kurtev. Further studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig deepened his craft and expanded his global reach.

Girma’s performances have spanned the globe, captivating audiences with his evocative compositions and heartfelt interpretations. His European appearances include Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Ireland. In North America, he has graced stages across the United States—including New York, Washington D.C., California, Texas, Maryland, and Washington state—as well as in Canada (Ottawa and Toronto). His Australian tours feature performances in Melbourne and Ballarat.

In 2025, Girma was honored with the prestigious Bravo Awards, at its 7th edition held at Moscow’s historic Bolshoi Theatre. His UK tour that year featured a landmark recital at Wigmore Hall in London, as well as memorable performances in Bath, Scotland, and a historic appearance at Lancaster House, marking a rare invitation to one of Britain’s most iconic venues.

Additionally, Girma has performed on two of the world’s most revered stages: Carnegie Hall in June 2024 and the Kennedy Center in April 2025.
